A Psalm of Thanksgiving.

100 Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth. 2 Serve the Lord with gladness and delight; Come before His presence with joyful singing.3 Know and fully recognize with gratitude that the Lord Himself is God;  It is He who has made us, not we ourselves [and we are His].  We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.4 Enter His gates with a song of thanksgiving And His courts with praise.  Be thankful to Him, bless and praise His name.5  For the Lord is good;  His mercy and lovingkindness are everlasting, His faithfulness [endures] to all generations.

When I think of THANKSGIVING, one of my favorite passages in the bible is Psalm 100.  It is descriptive of how we can enter the presence of the Lord, to experience His mercy and lovingkindness.  Gratefulness is a powerful heart position.  It helps us shift out of oppressive thoughts and situations to position us in the ‘courts of heaven’.  We can enter His gates with thanksgiving and enter His courts with praise.  When we take the time to begin to thank Him, His Spirit moves on our hearts to praise Him in a way that causes our atmospheres to shift.  It’s amazingly dynamic!

This month we will be entering the Hebrew month of Kislev.  This is a month of coming full circle.  That can be in many areas, but it is an opportune time to examine our hearts and see how God will break us out of old patterns that hinder our walk with the Lord and others to come into His redemptive purposes.  This is a wonderful time to thank God for healing so you can trust and rest in a new way.  It’s time to shoot straight and move quickly and on.  We can have peace even amid warfare staying in that place of thanksgiving and praise.  (from Time to Advance by Chuck Pierce)

2 Chronicles 20:21  Is a picture of the power of thanksgiving and praise.  King Jehoshaphat was confronted with an impossible situation.  Enemies surrounded Judah much stronger themselves.  They fasted and prayed and God gave them a strategy.   King Jehoshaphat of Judah arranged for worshipers to sing and praise God as they marched ahead of the army. The singers, dressed in holy attire, marched ahead of the warriors.

Our mid term elections are November 4th,  then we have our national celebration of Thanksgiving.  As we exercise our God given liberties to vote and worship this month, let’s enter the month with an attitude of gratitude and expectation of His goodness for His faithful love endures forever!

I pray the Lord heals you of trauma of the past, restores your strength and fills you with light in this season.  Thank you, Father, for the strategy to thank and praise our way out of the old places into your victorious future.
